Board Update
Your VIUU Board: Kim Kambak, George Butler, Kirk Barker, Kate O’Hare, Mary DeMange, and Jessica Wesch, have been thinking, working and planning for the fast-approaching year. We met last week with a facilitator who helped us define our goals.
As you may recall from last year’s discussions, you gave your pledges of hope by amply funding our budget which allocated funds for salary increases for Runa and Reverend Victoria and increased the budgets for all committees.
Springing from your gift of hope, the Board has formulated four Goals for 2024-25 which will be shared in the service they lead on September 15 th .
One goal for all of us to consider is the “yet to be formed” committee which has a line item specifically for Community Giving.
The hope is for the $6,000 pledged for this fund, to be allocated on island throughout the service year with no cash carryover.
The hope is that the process to release the funds not become another obligation of local non profits with multiple hoops, meetings and validation requirements that prevent funding.
The hope is that our love, trust and generosity as a VIUU congregation, is shared within our island community so together we can see our funds at work.
Building community based on love equates to risk taking within some parameters.
You may want to join this committee. You may want to donate more to this fund. You may want to discuss this in love amongst yourselves. You may want to help put together the parameters.
We are amply blessed and wise. Together we do make a difference.
